Writing is something you should just do. Put the words in a certain order, see what works, see what doesn’t. Only in the doing can you unearth your voice. It is kinda like a sculptor carving out the shape that is already there. It is important to decide from the beginning from what perspective you would write the story. Is that first person, third person, transparent. Making mistakes is the only way to move forward in writing, as in many other things. It is not about waiting to have a genius idea or waiting for inspiration. It is the doing that will let you find your voice and imitating to get a sense of what to what you could be up to.

I specifically say could, because the choice comes with progress. FInding the road ahead can only be done by travelling the road. An than the time comes to make a decision, well calculated or just random, as if calculated is not another form of randomness in itself.

Figuring it out is making a calculated mistake. How silly the process of the story taking shape looks when you are behind the keyboard. Another choice you would say only to be thrown back into procrastination, because you just can’t figure out what your style is.
