After the hot Indian summer that seemed to last longer than summer ever felt, autumn announced itself in a day. All movement suddenly seemed to be directed downwards, from the heavy torrential rain that caused a huge branch of massive oak to break of from the trunk to the leaves drifting down after one last warm gust of wind.

The morning sky looked almost clear as small orange clouds drifted in from below. You could see the color of the clouds shift as the sun rapidly climbed from below the horizon illuminating another splendid autumn day.

The autumn cold touches my legs as I am confidently walking the forest path. Having left the extreme indian summer behind the morning cold feels as a relief waking up the senses to a full awareness of the surroundings.
